October 1, 2020Information about what is happening in other clubs in our district is available through their website, rotary7870.org Each month the district also puts out a newsletter. One article from the September issue discusses a series of speakers the Wallingford club plans to host in October online. They will learn more about Rotary Action Groups ("RAGS:).
Borrowing from the Rotary International Website, RAGS are independent Rotary affiliated groups that consist of experts from around the world in fields such as economic development, peace, addiction prevention and other topics. They help clubs get advice on planning and implementing service projects, as well as information about Rotary Foundation district and global grants, They make suggestions about other sources of fund raising and potential partners for the projects. If you are interested in hearing the speakers about this service, check the September newsletter about the Wallingford Rotary's on line meetings that are Mondays at 7:30 AM.
Even if this particular project is not of interest, it is worth checking out the District website to find out what other clubs in our district are doing. One can also find potential speakers for our own group as Zoom meetings offer the opportunity for a more diverse group of speakers available to discuss issues that can be of value to our own activities and plans for a variety of projects.
