Fourth of July Ringing Of The Bell

This was the eighth year that the Benningon Rotary Club led the community in ringing bells to celebrate the signing of the Declaraton of Independence. The ceremony began at 1:45 and at 2 o'clock the bell was rung thirteen times by different Rotarians representing the 13 original states.

The Fourteenth bell, represnting Vermont is rung each year by the individual or organizaton that is honored by Rotary. This year it was Tim Newbold and his children representing the Village School of North Bennington.
